The Nursery - Current Puppies
Scroll down to see our Mi-Ki puppies for adoption in Chicagoland (convenient Northwest suburban location) and learn about the adoption process.
If you’ve considered making a Metro Mi-Ki puppy one of your future furry family members, now is a great time to fill out our Questionnaire and consider placing a deposit for a marvelous mini mate from one of our upcoming litters. The form can be found here:
Pet Deposit Policy
A $500 non-refundable deposit places you in the choosing queue for our current and upcoming litters. It’s also possible to place a deposit to be in the choosing queue for future litters. The $500 deposit goes towards the purchase price of $3,600.
Breeding requirements and deposits are listed at the bottom of this page. To promote a quality gene pool, established breeders have first dibs on litter selection (but very few dogs end up going to breeders.)
Premium hand delivery options are available for an extra fee to your nearest airport. The service is $400, plus roundtrip airfare, and a one-way in-cabin pet ticket. If your airport is regional without direct flights (which may require an overnight stay) there may be additional fees.
Deposit List
There is a separate deposit list for breeders and pet homes. Depending on what you are looking for, there might be puppies available now. Contact me to let me know what type of mi-ki you're fond of. Although others may be ahead of you on the deposit list, they likely don't have the same preferences that you do. I'll be happy to tell you when your dream pup is anticipated
If you would like to apply to reserve a spot on the deposit list, please first fill out the adoption questionnaire (use the button or navigate to the Contact & Apply page) so we can get to know each other.
The "Brave" Litter 3/23/2026
From Tansy and Hugo
D.O.B. 3/23/26
This is a special pair. Hugo produces some very therapeutic puppies.All will be long-coats with facial furnishing (beard and moustache);
Tansy comes from an established and beautiful line of long-haired mi-kis.
See more about these parents in the OUR DOGS page.
About the "Brave" litter
3/23/2026
Tansy birthed a total of two pups. One was only 2 ounces "Brutus" which is very small. Chocolate and white parti pups, both boys. We nursed and fed Brutus day and night, but he weakened on the 3rd day and failed to thrive. Tansy was beside herself to lose him.
Hi brother "Blaise" was the opposite- very healthy and robust. As an only pup for Tansy who is a meticulous mama, he'll grow very well with all her attention and milk. Soon he was renamed "Bernard" as he resembled a Saint Bernard.
1. Bernard
Male - long-haired coat - 5 lbs.
Bernard’s name says it all—he looks like a miniature, fluffy St. Bernard. Amazingly chill and equally happy hanging out with humans, adult dogs, children, or a pile of blankets, Bernard is our happy hippie.

The "Christos" Litter 4/4/2026
From Ruby and Ozzy
D.O.B. 4/4/26
This is a special pair. As "smooth-face" coat types, Ruby and Ozzy's recessive gene guarantees smooth-face offspring which are genetically rare & have super easy-care grooming coats. Smoothies have no facial furnishing (beard and moustache); they sort of resemble long-haired chihuahuas.
Ozzy is Metro Miki's first sire, the very first blue-ribbon UKC Smooth-face Mi-ki in the world, and a crowd-pleaser for his personality, handsome good looks, and stature. At 4.5 pounds Ozzy is our smallest adult Mi-Ki. He is a red sable color with impressive vocalizations which he passes on to his pups. Ruby is a black and white parti with an excellent personality, disposition, and temperament.
See more about these parents in the OUR DOGS page.
About the "Christos" litter
Ruby birthed a total of four pups. All smooth-faced coat type, there were two boys and two girls. Black and white parti pups one of which turned orange and white, and two sables that promise to turn lighter and red like theor sire. Ruby delivered the litter on Easter eve.
They all arrived healthy and robust. A content litter, they are progressing normally, loving all the scent and other sensory daily exercises.
1. Cherry
Female - brown, black and white parti smooth-face coat - 5.5 lbs.
YaYa is the first to all things- walking, opening eyes, vocalizing. I expect her coat will continue to lighten. She may be a great candidate as a breeding female, thus the name YaYa which means "elder" in West Africa and just plain "care giver" in many cultures. I hope she gets the opportunity to be a Mom someday as it's a tremedously rewarding job for female dogs, and Ruby is a great whelper and mother.

2. Chico
Male - Sable parti smooth-coat male charting at 5.5 lbs.
Chico is named after Freddie Prinze's role in Chico and the Man 1970s sit-com-- a spunky comedian.

3. Chewbacca
Male - tan sable smooth-face coat - 6.0 lbs.
Chewbacca has that same expression in his nose and eyes as Chewbacca from Star Wars. Sables start out dark haired with an unmistakable stripe down the back and lighten significantly to land in the tan to red range.
You can just tell that this boy has a deep, intense, kindness.

4. Clementine
Female - sable, smooth-face coat - charting at 5.0 lbs.
Clementine will change from dark brown to orange/red as she ages. She's a playful, smart, expressionful girl with the cutest eyebrows in the world.
